TALBOT VILLAGE TRUST

We are hugely grateful to Talbot Village Trust who have given £20,000 to Coda Music and Arts Trust to transform the old grain store barn on our site into a wonderful new asset for our local community. These grants are designed to boost wellbeing across communities and drive positive social change in the region.

This grant is helping Coda to build a new rehearsal and workshop room. which will enable children, young people and adults of all abilities to learn, play, enjoy and benefit from music.

With the Trust's support we are providing a unique space for creative therapies, wellbeing and lifelong learning.

NEW CODA WEBSITE

Some of you may have already noticed that we have launched a new-look website to complement our new building development. Please be aware that this is still very much a work in progress and will be undergoing additional development work and refinements over the Summer. We hope that the new website will reflect all aspects of Coda Music and Arts Trust in a more cohesive way than the previous site, which served us well for almost a decade, but no longer fully reflected the organisation we have now become.

You can find out all about Coda on the website as well as view all of our upcoming programme of events in the What’s On section - you can even book activities online!

We would like to extend enormous thanks to James, Kelly and Kierney of The Onle Network who have worked with us to create the new site and who have so kindly given their time and expertise free of cost. We are so appreciative of their skills and generosity.

CAFE CONUNDRUM – CAN YOU HELP?

You will be aware of all the changes at Coda and we are really excited to welcome you all back to introduce you to our new site in September. Our main stable block project is just about complete including a new kitchen and café space.

With the changes to our site and to our work we would like to explore different options for our current cafe offer and would like to appeal to you for ideas.

To date, the café has been run by volunteers on a very part-time basis, but we believe it could be much more - and we are looking for inspiration and proposals.

Might you have a dream to run a café or know someone that would fit the opportunity here at Coda? Would you be willing to speak to us about your ideas?

If so, we’d love to hear from you, so please drop a line to Phil on phil.hallett@coda.org.uk

NEW FOREST TURF SUPPLIES

An enormous thank you to Vicky and of Kellie oNew Forest Turf Supplies who have installed the beautiful wildflower turf which you can now see alongside our car park and barn development.

This has very generously been provided to Coda free of charge and New Forest Turf Supplies are now working with us to be part of another outside space within our site.

END OF THE ROAD FESTIVAL

We are delighted to have been chosen (for the eighth year running) as a partner charity for the wonderful End Of The Road Festival, who will be supporting Coda through guest-list donations (and has now raised over £10,000 for the charity in the years since the partnership began!).

We are so grateful that End Of The Road choose to support us in this way. Guests are always incredibly generous and the contributions genuinely help Coda to make a difference to those in need of our help.

Thanks to support from EOTR, this year we are running DJ training sessions for young adults with learning disabilities alongside some music workshops for neuro-divergent young people, which will allow them meet and play music together.

End of the Road takes place from 29th August - 1st September 2024 at Larmer Tree Gardens and there are still tickets available!

SINGING MAMAS - COMING TO CODA IN SEPTEMBER
Wednesdays 10.30am - 12pm, starting 4th September
£8 per session

A new local group for women's wellbeing is coming to Coda, starting 4th September 2024. Mums, carers, grandmothers, and women without children are all welcome. Bumps and babies too! As children we sing freely and joyfully, but many voices get shushed or told they're not good enough. Singing becomes scary and we forget how to do it. Well, this is your invitation to find your voice again. Singing together is clinically proven to improve wellbeing and treat postnatal depression and anxiety. Shy singers, loud singers, all welcome. No experience needed and no wrong notes!

Singing Mamas will offer a welcoming singing circle sharing beautiful, simple songs from around the world, taught by ear.

If you would like to know more or book a place, contact elaine.cullinane@gmail.com

or visit www.singingmamas.org
