Welcome back to Coda for the Summer Term – we hope you enjoyed a relaxing Easter break.
We have an exciting term ahead as we continue to celebrate Coda’s 25th Anniversary across the year – and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. We are bringing back our social events in the Coda cafe this term and will be holding a music quiz at The Amberwood. Find out how you can get involved in all of this below. JOIN US IN CELEBRATING THE PLATINUM JUBILEE! We are delighted that funding has been awarded to Coda by the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund. To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June, Coda is creating a new multi-instrumental ‘Jubilee Jam Band’ to be led by Stuart Jebbitt and we need your help! We are looking for volunteer musicians from among our regular social music ensembles and students to learn some popular, classic songs from the last 70 years and perform (acoustically) in our local community. To be part of the project you will need to attend up to 3 rehearsal sessions (on Friday mornings from 10am – 12pm on 29th April, 6th & 13th May) and have availability to perform a series of gigs leading up to the Jubilee weekend (daytimes in the last two weeks of May, dates and times TBC). The Jubilee Jam Band will be performing to people with little opportunity to experience live music and we hope to perform in outdoor settings at residential care homes, disability day care centres, hospices and special schools across the area. The Jubilee Jam Band is about celebrating and engaging, so volunteers will be expected to dress-up and immerse themselves fully into the Jubilee spirit! Filming will be taking place at the gigs, so you will also need to consent to being filmed and this footage being shared. If you would like to take part and join our Jubilee Jam Band, please let us know. Get in touch on 01425 276161 or email contact@coda.org.uk or tell Stuart so that he can advise us of your interest. We look forward to hearing from you. CODA JUBILEE MUSIC QUIZ
