Kim studied at the University of Ulster, graduating with a Bsc (HONS) in Speech and Language Sciences, focusing on a detailed study of vocal anatomy and physiology, how the voice is produced and diagnosed and the treatment of voice disorders. Post-graduation, Kim undertook the renowned ‘Estill Voice Training Course’ Level One and Two and a number of further ‘Estill’ Supplementary Courses including ‘Estill for Singing Teachers’, ‘Estill for Children and Changing Voices’ and ‘Advanced Belting.’
Kim continued her training in London at City Lit’s one year Musical Theatre Diploma Course and worked privately with top vocal coaches. Kim has a DipLCM Musical Theatre from the London College of Music and an ATCL Music Theatre Performance (with Distinction) from Trinity College London. Kim’s teaching experience is vast, having trained students in Singing and Musical Theatre at many schools in London including East 15 Acting School, Italia Conti Associates (Guildford), The Courage to Sing at Pineapple Studios, Jigsaw Performing Arts and Theatre Train.
As well as running the Coda Health and Happiness Choirs at Coda, Kim also teaches at Centre Stage School of Dance and Performing Arts in Poole (teaching their London College of Music Singing classes as well as being the Singing teacher within the Musical Theatre team) and is currently the Musical Director of Sound of Soul Choir, Bournemouth.
