Just a reminder to all those that have weekly lessons or participate in our online groups that next week (w/c 26th October) is Half Term, so we will be taking a break for a week.
This will include all one-to-one lessons (both online and in-person), plus Kids Ukulele Band, the Health & Happiness Choir and the Re-energise Your Ukulele Playing Course.
All of these will return w/c 2nd November.
The only exception will be Beautiful Sounds, which will continue as normal over half term.
We take the safety of our students and staff very seriously, which means we are currently using all of our larger spaces at Coda Music Centre for individual lessons in order that we can maintain social distancing.
However, we want to do whatever we can to (safely!) bring back groups wherever possible and will be piloting both our Ukulele Band and Folk Orc in small groups off-site at the Walkford United Reformed Church following half term.
To update on all of our choirs, groups and ensembles:
Folk Orc
It’s not yet possible for this group to meet all-together and in-person at Coda Music Centre until further notice. However, we will be trialling smaller groups on a Thursday evening at the Walkford United Reformed Church following half term.
Coda Ukulele Band
It’s not yet possible for this group to meet all-together and in-person at Coda Music Centre until further notice. However, we will be trialling smaller groups on a Wednesday afternoon at the Walkford United Reformed Church following half term.
Stuart Jebbitt will continue to arrange regular online social events with the extended Ukulele Band family so that you can all keep in touch.
Health & Happiness Choir
This will not be meeting in person at Coda Music Centre but will continue after half term via Zoom. Zoom Choir sessions run on a Thursday from 10 – 11am.
We will continue to offer these Zoom sessions free of charge until Christmas (donations to our Just Giving page welcomed! justgiving.com/codamusictrust ).
The choir is currently working on a recorded song and accompanying video, which we hope to be able to share with everybody before Christmas.
Kids Ukulele Band
This will not be meeting in person at Coda Music Centre but will continue after half term via Zoom.
We will continue to offer these Zoom sessions free of charge until Christmas (donations to our Just Giving page welcomed! justgiving.com/codamusictrust ).
Beautiful Sounds
We will continue to run this group via Zoom (including over half term).
Stuart Jebbitt will run sessions at 11.30am on a Tuesday. There are a couple of spare spaces on these live sessions most weeks, so please let us know if you would like to join-in and we’ll try to make sure you are included (you will need to complete a permission form to consent to being filmed and for this to be shared).
These sessions are recorded (with the permission of the participants) and made available on Coda’s website and YouTube channels for clients to watch at leisure.

ONE-TO-ONE TUITION
Following half term, one-to-one music tuition will return on Monday 2nd November and we will continue to offer a choice of online or face-to-face lessons wherever possible.
Exceptions to this include:
Jacqui Khan (woodwind): online only
Adam Lamprell (guitar): online only
Deborah Jordan (vocals): in-person only
Drums (Greg & Kristian): in-person only
Drum Lessons
We are really pleased that, from the beginning of November, we will be offering in-person Drum lessons again at Coda Music Centre. Owing to limitations with the online experience for drums, we will not be offering online/Zoom lessons at this time.
We are committed to keeping everyone safe and have invested in all new kit to ensure these lessons can recommence in the safest possible way. Lessons will now take place on a high quality electronic kit in the Drum Room, so that appropriate social distancing can be maintained and all necessary safety precautions employed to keep everyone safe whilst learning.
We are still limited by space, so Greg will return on a Wednesday from November and Kristian will return on a Tuesday from January. The office will be in touch with all existing drum students to try to accommodate them back into our new, limited timetable.
We would just like to say how much we have appreciated your patience since the reopening of Coda Music Centre. We are a very small team working very hard to keep the centre running. Where possible, please continue to contact us by email (rather than phone) with any queries and please bear with us.
Please enjoy a relaxing half term and Happy Halloween … and we look forward to welcoming you back after the break!
