Starting tomorrow, Saturday 7th May, we have two brand new sessions for young people at Coda.
Coda Kids Ukulele Band will run from 9.30am – 10.15am. These sessions will be enjoyable and informal and will teach the foundations of Ukulele playing – the best way to hold the instrument, basic chords, strumming, getting a clean sound, jamming with others – but, most of all, how to have FUN with the ukulele!
We’ll be learning the Ukulele by playing some of your favourite songs and some classics right from the start – learning simple chords and playing as a band.
For any parents wishing to stay, the cafe will be open, where you can hang out with a coffee and read the papers.
Coda’s brand new Saturday morning ‘Rock School’ also starts tomorrow and is designed for young musicians, singers and bands to work together to develop musical and performance skills.
The sessions will take place on Saturdays from 10.30am – 12.30pm and will be led by James Arthur. Each week will offer a group session with a different focus – including developing songwriting skills, working with other musicians and building confidence for performing.
Following the group session will be the opportunity to work together on songwriting or other music projects, with Coda’s expert team on-hand to help you develop your skills.
Our music rooms will be available as part of Rock School for any already-formed bands to practice and make the most of the on-site expertise for advice and guidance.
Again, for any parents wishing to stay for part (or all) of the time, the cafe will be open, where you can hang out with a coffee and read the papers!
