NEW ACTIVITIES FOR LEARNING DISABLED ADULTS AT CODA
NEW ACTIVITIES FOR LEARNING DISABLED ADULTS AT CODA

We are excited to have TWO brand new activities for learning disabled adults launching this term at Coda Music Centre.

Please help us to spread the word of these activities to anyone who might be interested or who would benefit – and please contact us if you would like more details or to participate.

SAFE IN SOUND

This term, we are introducing a new music therapy group for adults with learning disabilities. Safe in Sound will be beneficial for those who find our Beautiful Sounds sessions just a bit too overwhelming.

Safe in Sound is a small music therapy group which is led by trainee music therapist, Jasmine Keats. Sessions will provide a therapeutic space to explore different music and instruments for self-expression.

Sessions will take place in Coda Music Centre’s Music Therapy room on a Tuesday morning from 11am to 12pm. The first session is Tuesday 1st March and will run until 31st May with a two week break over the Easter period. Individuals will be encouraged to attend each week for the group duration, even if they struggle to engage at the beginning.

We would love to identify those individuals who will benefit most from this music therapy group, so please get in touch if you are interested. It will be necessary for you to fill out a referral form. Places are very limited (maximum 5 per session), so please contact us on contact@coda.org.uk or telephone 01425 276161 if you would like to take part.

CLUB CREATE with hArt

This term, Coda’s partner charity hArt will be offering creative arts and crafts sessions for learning disabled adults at Coda Music Centre.

Led by art facilitator Karen Blake, Club Create drop-in sessions will be fun and active workshops with an emphasis on hands on making for anyone who loves to draw, stick, paint and create!

Sessions will take place in Coda Music Centre’s Café on a Friday morning from 10.30am to 12pm. The first session is Friday 4th March and sessions will run each week throughout term time.

If you are interested in these Club Create sessions, please get in touch. It is important for hArt to have an idea of numbers to provide sufficient art and craft resources, so please book ahead if you would like to attend.

Contact contact@hart.works or telephone 07999 492808 if you would like to take part.
