Following the latest announcement from H.M. Government:
- Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (areas covered by Dorset Council will be in Tier 3 and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole will be in Tier 4 from Thursday 31 December)
- New Forest (will be moving to Tier 4 from Thursday 31 December)
This means, in line with the new Government guidance, we will need to close the Music Centre until restrictions are lifted.
However, we will continue to teach and work remotely during this new period of restrictions, so that you will continue to have your music lessons.
Lessons will NOT be cancelled, but for all of our students who were planning face-to-face lessons from January, your lessons will be delivered online via Zoom from Monday 4th January (the start of the Spring Term).
Zoom login details WILL BE THE SAME as last term or as previously provided during the last period of lockdown.
Please use the login details you already have for your online lessons this term.
If you have lost your Zoom login details or you were not provided with these previously, please contact Amie on contact@coda.org.uk and we will get the Zoom login details out to you as soon as possible.
There are a couple of exceptions to this. Unfortunately, we will need to postpone the re-starting of drum lessons. These cannot be delivered online, so these lessons are back on hold until restrictions are lifted.
Also, our ‘in-person’ group sessions for Ukulele Band and Folk Orc will be postponed for the moment.
Our tutors have been delivering lessons online for some time now, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, so we are confident that the standard of teaching will be as good as in-person tuition.
For those of you who haven’t had online lessons previously, we have some easy guidance for getting the best out of online lessons: click here
Also, please take a look at Coda’s Online Safeguarding policy and guidelines, which you can access online: click here
If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch via email: contact@coda.org.uk
In the meantime, we will be making the necessary arrangements to deliver lessons with as little disruption as possible.
These restrictions are due to be reviewed in 2 weeks, at which point we will contact you all again to clarify what this means for your music lessons.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We wish you all a Happy New Year and look forward to continuing to make music with you in 2021.
