Schools & Special Education Schools

Coda devises and delivers large scale projects with local schools, often addressing issues around transition from primary to secondary school or family learning and is always looking for new partners. We are currently delivering First Access/Wider Opportunity projects to primary schools across Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole.

We also work with children with severe behavioural, emotional or social difficulties and/or learning difficulties. This work seeks to engage pupils in constructive, creative music workshops and learning to provide new skills and accredited educational goals, as well as providing inspirational role models through our music leaders.

Coda also provides training for staff in schools or pre-school/nursery settings. Training aims to provide strategic professional development for staff to use music and singing in their everyday work and can be delivered through twilight training sessions and/or practice based visits. Previous projects have been hugely successful, providing participants with new-found musical skills and the confidence to lead a range of sessions with children.

Coda is an established local music organisation with a team of qualified, experienced music educators and therapists providing a broad range of services for young people of all ages and abilities. If you would like to know more about how we could deliver music activities in your school or special school, please get in touch.

For examples of projects Coda has delivered, please take a look at the case studies below.
