Sessions will run from 2.30 – 3.30pm on a Wednesday at Coda Music Centre, Chewton Farm Road BH23 5QL and will be taught by Chris Hopgood.
10-Week Improvers Acoustic Guitar Course with Chris Hopgood
Foundation Topics:
Open Chords: A7, Bm, Dm, D7, D/F#, Em, E7, F, F#m, G7
Scales: G Major Open Position, E Blues Position 2
The Coda 10-Week Improvers Guitar Course is a follow-on course continuing the topics covered in the 10-week Beginners Acoustic Guitar Course.
The foundation for both courses is the learning of your first 20 open chords. Using these chords, we shall be continuing our learning of several basic techniques that are common for acoustic guitar including Basic Strumming Patterns, Flatpicking Rhythms and Fingerstyle.
In addition to these we shall also be covering some Single Note Melody Playing, Blues Rhythms and Improvisation, Basic Musical Theory and Exercises that will help speed up the trajectory of your learning. This cause has been compiled by and will be taught by Chris Hopgood, a professional, multi-instrumentalist with more than 20 years’ experience both on the music scene, performing in a variety of bands covering a diverse range of music genres and as a teacher, having had students of a wide range of ages and abilities.
