End of Term & Summer Plans
End of Term & Summer Plans
Just a reminder that this is the final week of the Summer Term!

Our last lessons will take place on Saturday 24th July, then we break-up for the Summer Holidays.

Invoices for next term will be sent out on Tuesday next week. Please be aware, the Autumn term is 14 weeks, so it’s longer than usual (which will be reflected in your invoice!).

If you are not returning next term, please let us know by Monday, so that you are not invoiced – and your space can be offered to those on our waiting lists.

At this point, we are planning for Coda Music Centre to be open for face-to-face ‘in-person’ lessons  for the Autumn Term. However, it will be a phased reopening of the Music Centre, so some but not all of our groups will be returning. We will be welcoming back The Ukulele Band, Folk Orc, Rusty Rockers, Jazz Ensemble, Classical Guitar Ensemble and Kids Ukulele Band. Until further notice, Childrens groups (tots, toddlers, majors & minors) and our Health & Happiness choir will not be returning just yet.

Over the Summer, Coda will be out and about at various events, so keep an eye out for us!

FESTIVAL COAST LIVE!

‘Festival Coast Live!’ is a diverse, vibrant spectacle of events and activities that celebrate and showcase what makes the area and its communities so special for the people who live, visit and work here.

A series of pop-up event experiences will celebrate live music, dance, food, heritage, culture, literature, health and fitness, wellbeing, lifestyle, nature and the environment.

Coda will represented at three performances taking place at The Bandstand in Christchurch on:

Friday 30th July at 3pm
The Folk Orc (plus guests Chris Hopgood and Tin Angel)

Saturday 31st July at 11am
Coda Fiddle Orchestra String Ensemble performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons

Friday 20th August at 3pm
The Coda Ukulele Band

Please go along to the bandstand to support the performers and enjoy some great free live music in the sun.

CAMP BESTIVAL

If you are at Camp Bestival from 28th July – 2nd August, keep an eye out for James Arthur, who will be there with a bunch of ukuleles and his Music Generator.

James will be running some Instant family songwriting workshops, so he’ll be asking you to grab a ukulele, spin the wheel of Coda’s Music Generator and compose some songs in his madcap music workshops.

The result may be a reggae tune about the World Cup, or a country music song on the topic of tennis. Who knows where the wheel will lead!

END OF THE ROAD FESTIVAL

We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen (for the fifth year) as a partner charity for the wonderful End Of The Road Festival.

The festival will be supporting Coda through guest-list donations and has now raised over £4,000 for the charity in the years since the partnership began.

It is fantastic that End Of The Road has chosen to support us in this way again. Guests are always incredibly generous and the contributions genuinely help Coda to make a difference to those in need of our help.

The festival takes place from 2nd – 5th September at Larmer Tree Gardens.

Thank you all so much for bearing with us this year. Over the Summer holidays, the office will be working with skeleton staff so please be patient and email rather than call where possible – we will respond to you as soon as we can.

Keep an eye on your emails over the coming weeks for news about exciting new courses running in September.

We wish you all a very happy and relaxing holiday. Hopefully we will see some of you at the various music events over the Summer and we look forward to welcoming you back for the Autumn Term.
