Coda’s Autumn Re-opening Update
Coda’s Autumn Re-opening Update

We wanted to update you all regarding our plans for the Autumn.

As a charity, we are here to help and support our local community, so safety is at the heart of all our work and is central to all of our decisions.

Autumn Term will begin on Monday 7th September and we will be offering a choice of online or face-to-face lessons wherever possible.

If you are a piano, guitar or strings student, you may have already received an email and invoice from us to secure a lesson with your usual tutor in the Autumn. Please confirm your preference (online to face-to-face) as requested as soon as you are able, so that we can make the appropriate arrangements.

Initially, woodwind and vocal lessons will only be available online until Government advice and research into the virus informs a change. Look out for a message from us with regard to your lessons in the coming weeks (*and please see the testimonials further down this email from students who have been learning online with us).

Unfortunately, we can no longer offer drum lessons at this time. Our facilities are not appropriate to allow us to do this in a safe environment for both drum students and tutors at Coda Music Centre – and it is difficult to deliver online lessons to the standards we uphold.

We really appreciate your patience and hope that you will return to Coda for your music lessons in the Autumn (where possible). For the past 20 years, we have been supporting local people to make music and we believe in music as a force for good.

The current pandemic has turned our world upside down and Coda Music Trust, like many charities and businesses, is in a struggle to survive. We hope that you, like us, will feel the benefits of making music are undeniable and integral to our daily life and to our future.

We will be providing information via email and on our website regarding the new term at Coda every two weeks and sending guidelines, protocols and updates on our programme.

In our next update, we hope to provide more news on our plans for our groups and ensembles.

In the meantime, you are welcome to call Amie and Deb in the office from Monday to Wednesday between 10am and 5pm with any questions or queries. Our plans are unfolding and evolving, so please bear with us.

*FEEDBACK FOR CODA’S ONLINE LESSONS

“very good value for money and if face to face lessons are not an option in the future, I would happily continue with Zoom.”

“I found the online session just as effective as face to face lessons.”

“I find the virtual sessions really good. Have had no tech problems at all.”

We hope you all continue to enjoy the Summer break and we look forward to providing more details about how we plan to welcome you back in September.
