We hope you are all enjoying the first half of the Autumn Term. We just wanted to update you with some news and events coming up this term.

7 – 9pm in THE CODA SOCIAL
FREE event

Led by Jonny Vernam, this Acoustic Evening is for students wishing to play/perform a non-classical song or piece in any genre.

7 – 9pm in THE CODA SOCIAL Cafe
FREE event

Led by Carol Davies, this Classical evening is open to all Coda students who would like to play a classical piece

These evenings provide a lovely opportunity to perform in front of a relaxed, welcoming audience. They are also open for anyone who would like to come along, listen, enjoy and support the performers. These are FREE events.

If you would enjoy performing at one of these evenings, or would benefit from the opportunity to play in front of a friendly audience, we would encourage you to speak to your tutor so they can let us know – or contact the Coda office on 01425 276161 or email contact@coda.org.uk

Friday 28th October

St.Thomas’ Church, Lymington

On Friday 28th October, there will be a concert to remember and celebrate the life of Nick Filbee. Nick sat on the board of trustees for Coda Music Trust for nearly a decade from 2001, was an accomplished pianist and cello player and had a passion for classical music.

The concert will feature Josh Hathaway, Stephanie McLester, Guy Gardner, Stephen Kenyon and Lucy Bocchetta.

Doors open 7.30pm and the concert starts 8pm.
Refreshments will be available.

St Thomas’ Church can be found on St. Thomas’ Street, Lymington, Hampshire SO41 9ND

This is a free event, but donations to Coda Music Trust are welcomed.

As part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations, we have created a brand new exhibition in the Coda Cafe which celebrates our Home, Work & People. We hope that you are enjoying looking back over 25 years of Coda – as well as seeing some of our future plans.

If you have anything you would like to add to the exhibition, let us know as it is a work-in-progress and we will be adding to it over the course of the term.

If you haven’t seen it yet, please come and take a look next time you are at Coda.

Just a reminder that the deadline for submitting your entry forms and payment for the Trinity Music Exams in December is Thursday 6th October

Save the date! Sunday 4th December will be our Christmas Concert event at New Milton Memorial Centre.

This will be a lovely opportunity for our choir, groups and ensembles to meet, perform and enjoy a festive evening of entertaining music.

Featuring Coda Jazz Ensemble, The Heath & Happiness Choir, Rusty Rockers and Folk Orc, this will be a free event for Coda Music Trust staff, students, friends and family.

We will be asking for donations on the door and there will be a raffle, so please bring cash!

The bar will be well-stocked with both alcoholic and soft drinks and snacks.

The Coda Christmas Concert will take place at the New Milton Memorial Centre at Whitefield Road, New Milton BH25 6DE

Doors will open at 6.30 with performances from 6.45pm to approximately 9.30pm.

Can you help us? We are in desperate need of raffle prizes for our upcoming Christmas event. If you have any chocolates, bottles, unwanted gifts or vouchers that you would be willing to donate, it would be hugely appreciated.

Please drop off any contributions at Coda reception.

Thank you for your support.

A HUGE thank you to End of the Road, who have raised a fantastic £2,092.50 for Coda from guest-list donations from this year’s festival.

EOTR has supported Coda as a partner charity for six years running and has now raised over £6,000 for the charity in the years since the partnership began.

It is fantastic that End Of The Road choose to support us in this way. Guests are always incredibly generous and the contributions genuinely help Coda to make a difference to those in need of our help.

Just a reminder that the week commencing 24th October is Half Term, so there will be no one-to-one tuition, courses or groups during this week.

The second half of the Autumn Term starts on Monday 31st October and we look forward to welcoming you back for the second half of term.
