Woodwind Tuition
Clarinet Flute Saxophone Recorders
Coda offers Woodwind tuition in Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute and Recorders for individuals and for groups of all ages and for all abilities from beginners of any age through to advanced players. (The starting age for child beginners for the different instruments will vary according to hand size).
Students are encouraged to develop a good playing style within a broad range of music: classical, traditional folk music, pop, world music and jazz.
A student-centred approach allows for individual enthusiasms within a structured programme. Practice books are available to encourage home practice, remember homework and technical tips. Parents of our younger students are welcome to attend lessons and can also help support home practice. There are opportunities for taking external music examinations (Trinity Guildhall and Associated Board) at appropriate times.
Learning a Woodwind instrument at Coda will build and extend skills, learning and understanding of: solo playing. ensemble playing, reading and rhythm games, music theory activities, ear training, informal creativity, music in a wide range of styles, posture and breathing.
Coda Music Wind Ensembles
Recorder Rendezvous is a group for adults of all abilities. The recorder is a very popular and sociable instrument with adults, both for those who are new to playing an instrument and for those who, for various reasons, may wish to transfer from another instrument. A wealth of ensemble music can be enjoyed from the very earliest stages of learning. Tutor, Carol Davies, will carefully select and arrange music parts to address any variety of skills. All are welcome – please contact Coda Music Centre for details on 01425 276161.
Saxophone and Clarinet Ensembles
These are new ensembles and details have yet to be confirmed. If you are interested please contact Coda Music Trust on 01425 276161.
