Paul began playing guitar during his mid teens, inspired by his parents record collection and the shiny guitars in the window of his local instrument shop, he started to play in school bands and eventually, in and around the pubs and clubs of Lancashire.
Upon moving to Manchester in his late teens he became involved in the thriving live music scene there and played some of the city’s most iconic venues. In 2010, to further his musical career, Paul packed up his life and guitars in to a white transit van and moved to London to study under immensely respected tutors at the prestigious London College of Music.
During his time at university he studied all aspects of popular music and now enjoys playing several genres, including soul, funk, blues, pop, rock, jazz and folk. He graduated with a BMus in Popular Music Performance (2:1).
Paul has enjoyed the opportunity to play at iconic venues around London and recently played at the prestigious Shepherds Bush Empire. He is one half of an acoustic duo who gig in London and along the South Coast of England and he also plays in function bands at events around the country.
Paul is a passionate and experienced guitar tutor. As well as his work for Coda Music Centre he works both as a peripatetic guitar tutor, teaching in several local schools and also operates a successful private teaching practice. Paul offers specifically planned lessons to all ages and abilities of students.
In addition to delivering guitar lessons Paul also enjoys leading Guitar Ensembles and song-writing projects for students of all ages and abilities.
