Lucy graduated from the University of Chichester in 2009 where she studied violin with Eulalie Charland (of the Aquilon Ensemble). She also studied singing, guitar and instrumental and vocal teaching.
She started learning the violin aged five, at Coda, using the Suzuki method. Years later she was awarded distinction for her Grade 8 violin.
She is a versatile violinist, playing classical, folk, blues, jazz or funk music, and specialises in improvisation. In 2008, Lucy was deputy leader of the Chichester University Chamber Orchestra.
She now works as a freelance musician, playing for various singer songwriters in London, orchestras, wedding duos, singing in her jazz duo, and playing violin and singing for Bournemouth’s funk band Monkey Puzzle. She has also had community musician training and has facilitated singing and drum workshops. Lucy joined the team at Coda in September 2009, and has a fresh and exciting approach to instrumental teaching.
