Young People's Arts Award

The Young People’s Arts Award supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders and is available throughout England. The Arts Award is accredited at levels Bronze, Silver and Gold on the National Qualifications Framework. Certificates are issued by Trinity College London.

Doing an Arts Award can help to develop creative, communication and leadership skills.

Coda Music and the Arts Award

In 2008 Coda Music will be able to enter students for the Arts Award as a registered Arts Award Centre.

Any young person aged between 11-25 can take part in the Arts Award through Coda - we have 7 members of staff who are trained as Arts Award Advisers and Coda Music will be integrating the Arts Award into Coda’s day to day work with young people as well as providing new opportunities for young people to access the Award.

Coda Music will also be incorporating the Arts Award into its work with disabled young people.

Achieving an Arts Award says a lot about a person. It shows your commitment to your art form, your interest in developing your skills and understanding, your communication, planning and evaluation skills. It demonstrates skills in leadership as well as your own arts practice.

The Arts Award is about personal challenge and not competition against others. You’ll develop your own plan according to your interests and personal circumstances. You’ll enter for whichever level of award best suits you, and take as long as you wish to complete your Arts Award.
